Interface load cells are used throughout the world in virtually every industry

Interface offers both Reaction and Rotary style torque transducers. Reaction
torque transducers are used to measure torque loads where the sensor doesn't
have to rotate, or rotates through a limited number of rotations. Applications
for reaction torque include motor or pump torque, valves, actuators, steering
gears and gear reducers. Rotary torque transducers are used in applications
where the torque transducer must rotate, such as when attached to a spinning
shaft. A rotary torque transducer provides a method of getting the signal off of
the rotating element without an attached cable.
Our indicators and signal conditioners offer a wide range of
options to provide you with exactly the information you need. Signal
conditioning modules are used to provide excitation to the cells, powering the
strain gages and taking the output signal from the cell and sending it on to a
data acquisition system, display, relays or other devices to view or process the
information in rail mount or in line. We have available low voltage units
specifically designed for the automotive industry that can handle down to a 9V
supply.
Instruments/Signal Conditioners
Every good load cell requires a good instrument or signal conditioner to take
advantage of the accuracy inherent in the cell. Interface offers a complete
range of instruments and signal conditioners for most applications. The
advantage of purchasing the Interface load cell and instrument or signal
conditioner together is that they can be preprogrammed and/or calibrated for the
specific load cells for which they are to be used. Interface offers a wide range
of instruments and signal conditioners to fit most applications. All Interface
instruments and signal conditioners provide excitation to the cells, powering
the strain gages. Installation time is then significantly reduced. Interface
also recommends that the cable accessory be purchase saving further time.
Signal Conditioners
The signal conditioners take the output signal from the load cells and send it
to a data acquisition system in the form of an analog 4 to 20 ma or volts
signal. Selection of the signal conditioner will depend on whether it is
preferable to have it internal or external to the load cell, output desired,
available power source and whether intrinsic safety is required.
Instruments
Interface instruments are self contained and provide a display as well as an
available output to a computer and or data acquisition system. The instrument is
readily programmed from the front panel and can be set up to read in lbs,
newtons, or kilograms of force. The key factors in selecting the right
instrument are speed and accuracy. Most Interface instruments include a shunt
calibration feature which permits the instrument to be calibrated based on a
known force provided on the Interface calibration certificate.

Our calibration systems can be customized with a number of options that enhance
performance. Our portable machine calibration system integrates the
ultra-accurate 9840 digital indicator with any laptop computer. This creates a
portable system for in-field verification of force test machines. The
verification involves insertion of a reference load cell (such as the Interface
Gold StandardTM load cell) into the equipment under test. Each data point in the
test frame controller is compared against the reading from the reference load
cell.
From mounting plates and load buttons to adaptors and cable assemblies,

Mounting Plates - Mounting plate accessories are used to facilitate mounting of
a compression load cell under a weigh bridge, tank or other structure.
Top Plates - Top plate accessories distribute the load to the weighing structure
and provide a hard surface for the load button.
Bottom Plates - Bottom plate accessories distribute the load over the foundation
or supporting structure and provide a prepared surface for the load cell.
Load Buttons - Load buttons convert universal type load cells into compression
only load cells. These accssories provide a spherical load surface.
Calibration Adapters, Thread Adapters, and Jam Nuts - As these accessories names
imply, these accessories adapt to different thread sides. A jammed calibration
adapter improves load cell performance.
Rod End Bearings - Rod end bearings are useful for tension applications, as this
accessory reduces errors that can occur due to misalignment.
Junction Boxes & Mating Connectors - Junction boxes allow the summing of
multiple load cells into one signal, and are commonly used in weighing
applications.
Cable Assemblies and Shunt Resistors - Pre-made cables and accessories reduce
installation time for load cells with connectors.
